Whats the difference between paying with debit or credit?

If I have debit card and pay for clothes, is their a difference between punching in my pin number to signing my name? I am a teenager and recently starting using my debit card. If anyone can explain that would be great :)|||Probably the only difference you'll notice is the signature vs pin number. Some banks offer incentives to make debit transactions, but not many I know of; check the terms of your bank account or ask a bank representative. Typically, debit transactions hit my account quicker, so I have a better idea of what my balance is; I don't have to worry about forgetting that I swiped my card yesterday and the transaction isn't showing yet in my bank account.
