What is the difference between a debit and credit card?

Do you get a statement for debit cards? How do you know if something was bought on a debit card?|||Debit means it goes against money you already have. My debit card is linked to my bank account and the transactions are shown on my monthly statements. If I have a prepaid card, the transactions are visible online after I register the card.

Credit means the bank is lending you money until you pay them back. They send you a monthly statement showing the charges and you have the choice of paying them in full or making minimum payments for a few months and paying a boatload of interest.|||You need money in your account to cover the cost with a debit card, so you can't get into debt with one. For example if you only have 拢200 in your account and try to buy a 拢250 item, the sale will be rejected.

When you pay for something with a credit card you are buying on credit, so it doesn't matter how much you have in your account, will pay with interest later.

Your debit card purchases will appear on your bank statement.|||A credit card provide money you do not have.....a debit card takes money out of your bank account to pay for your purchases...
