How do debit cards and credit cards work?

This is probably a stupid question but yeah. And another thing, how do I cash paychecks? Is there a way I can just put the paycheck to my debit card?|||your debit card is linked to your checking account. Deposit your paycheck into your checking account and use your debit card to spend the money.

Credit cards do not use your checking account; instead they draw down upon a credit line offered to you by your card issuer. If you don't pay off your balance (from you checking account) after you get a statement then you'll be charged interest for the outstanding balance.|||Banks are willing to cash most paychecks for customers with active accounts and account balances large enough to match the amount of the payroll check. Many bank will not cash them for non customers without a fee being charged.

Walmart charges $ 3.00 to cash your paycheck, up to about 1000. then goes to a higher rate for ones up to 5000.00

Many employers offer direct deposit (my wife's company only does direct deposit to your checking accounts - no account - no work, so we have two --just in case) -- ask your payroll staff about this option -- no mailman, UPS or FED-Ex delays to wait for for your paper check.
